Global Azure Skopje 2024 is a remarkable event for technology professionals and enthusiasts. Scheduled for April 20, 2024, at Innox (Innovation Center of Skopje) in Skopje, this event marks the second time the Global Azure initiative visits North Macedonia. The event, known for its community-driven focus, offers a unique opportunity to engage with experts on Microsoft Azure cloud.
The Skopje edition of this global event featured five sessions within a single track, covering various aspects of Azure and cloud technology. This format is designed to give attendees an intensive, informative experience that dives deep into technical content and practical applications of Azure services.
The Organizers of the Event
Despite its small size—with about 2 million residents—North Macedonia has a vibrant and cohesive IT community. The Macedonian .Net Community and the Macedonian IT Pro User Group organized the Global Azure Skopje 2024 event. The Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors supported the organizers.

Session 1: Azure OpenAI Service with Demos
Fisnik Doko captivated attendees as he unveiled the latest groundbreaking updates on Azure AI services, setting the stage for what promises to be an electrifying series of presentations and discussions.
Session 2: Three areas of focus to achieve Azure operational efficiency
The esteemed Dimitar Grozdanov led this session. With his deep expertise and dynamic presentation style, Dimitar dives into crucial strategies for maximizing efficiency in Azure operations.
Session 3: Multi-cloud security and identity with Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
This session discussed the interactions and security practices that power the multi-cloud landscape. From the beginning, Ana Jovkovska, the speaker, had a clear and important message that the skills that enable planning and collaboration between team members are vital in everyone’s work, including in the DevOps segment. She then goes on to share her experiences in the cloud security segment.
Session 4: Introduction to Cloud-Native Application Development on Azure with .NET Aspire, Dapr, Orleans
Jovica Saveski, the speaker of the session “Introduction to Cloud-Native Application Development on Azure with .NET Aspire, Dapr, Orleans,” discusses the architectural and design approaches to cloud-native software development. What’s right, what’s wrong, what approach is easy, and what are the challenges? Cloud-native software development requires a different approach than traditional software development.
Session 5: Full Cognitive Experience with Azure OpenAI Service – Tailoring production-ready RAG solutions
Generative AI has exploded onto the scene, captivating audiences worldwide since the rise of ChatGPT. This session was about the fascinating history and vibrant current landscape of ChatGPT and counterparts. It uncovered the dynamic partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft and revealed how simple it is to craft your chatbot. But the real question remains: Is it good enough?
The Venue: Innovation Center of Skopje – InnoX
The event was made possible by collaborating with the International Balkan University (IBU) and InnoX, who provided their venue following a signed Memorandum of Cooperation with the Macedonian .NET Community. This partnership is expected to strengthen and expand in the future.
The location of the event was the venue of Innox. It is a great co-working space, and the management loves to say it’s an innovation center in Skopje.
XO is an historical place where lots of IBU professors were there in 60s, near to the stone bridge, in the heart of Skopje. After we discover this place we decide to transform this place and build a bridge between past and future, with innovation!
